Comments: I'm thrilled to see that the theatre is still alive and well. When I was young it was owned by Ed Lachman, who was president of the theatre supply company in Boonton where my Dad was general manager. I wound up as the first "boy projectionist" at the State when Johnny Wilson and Irv Balsam broke me in at age 14. I spent seven summers in the booth during high school and college and wrote an article about those days several years ago for the Theatre Historical Society of America. Got to run so many first run films there, including opening the Beatles first picture "A Hard Day's Night" on the same day as Broadway. The Boonton cops were down front to prevent the young ladies from rushing the screen and kissing it.

Comments: Wow, I grew up in Boonton Township and the only theatres we had locally were in Denville and of course The State Theatre on Main Street. It brings back a ton on memories. Movies like "The Sons of Katie Elder," "Thunderball," "Girls, Girls, Girls," "Hawaii". How about sitting up in the balcony and throwing Ju-Ju-Bes down on the crowd, or necking in the last row by the projection room. Very unique theatre and great memories!

Comments: I love this theater. In fact, my wife held my 30th birthday party here and I got to see one of my favorite movies on the big screen, "Shaun of the Dead". I really miss the silent movies that you guys used to do. I would love to see them return to the theater one day.
