Your comments In my career I have been blessed with many gifts, special gifts, all the patients I have been honored to care for. Then I met Jimmy. And I knew this was a young man that God introduced me to for a special reason. He possessed a level grace, courage and dignity which I had not witnessed before. And so my journey with Jimmy began. But it will not end. He taught me many lessons that I shall carry forward in my practice. Rest in peace sweet angel. I will forever carry your beautiful smile in my heart. Karen Ryan RN

Your comments My little boy Matthew was born on February 25th just like Jimmy. When Matthew is older, I will explain to him how lucky he is to share a birthday with such an extraordinary young man. I will have Jimmy's Aunt Sharon and Uncle Sully tell Matthew all about Jimmy. Then he will know the true meaning of the word "hero". God bless Jimmy and the McGann family.

Your comments Jimmy, we've been thinking of you all of this time, and you will still be in our minds no matter where you are. Heaven only picks the best, you're with many people who can take care of you now. Your strength is now shining within the sun, and is radiating all the way out here in Fairport! Stephanie will be accepting donations for the Lance Armstrong Fund at her Improv Show, next friday, January 23rd. Hopefully if the turn out is good, she can keep making donations throughout the year from every show in your name! Jimmy, & McGann family, we love you very much!

Your comments So this is the third time I've come to write something on your wall and everytime I cancel it. I just can't seem to find the perfect thing to say. Just that you are so loved by all of us. Ever since the befginning days at SJR when all you kids were small, the hot lunches, the rodeos, the t-ball, baseball, halloween, I could go on and on. You are awesome! What an inspiration to all of us you have been during these past 8 months. You are so lucky to be from the McGann Clan, you have a great family. You have left our hearts so heavy and sad but we know that you are in a wonderful place and your smile is pain free and I'm sure you are bringing happiness to heaven. We will miss you always but you will live in our hearts forever.

Your comments To the McGann Family, Jim and Mary Kay - we heard in the Fall of Jimmy's illness and have been praying for all of you. We know what you have been through and understand the loss of a child as our 8 year old, Michael died in Dec. 2006 of a rare and aggressive form of lymphoma. I learned of your illness through Maggie (Medler) Lane and just felt sick...I know what it is like to live on a day-at-a-time basis and to be hopeful and fearful with every test and new challenge that cancer brings. We will hold you in our hearts and prayers and we hope to some day (though miles apart), we can re-unite and talk of our beautiful sons. My chidren found a beautiful saying that they found comforting... "Some people believe in angels... we have held one in our arms"... God Bless - know that we are here if you need to talk to someone who understands. With great love and sympathy, Mark and Laurie Napoleone & Family

Your comments Jimmy and Family, I have enjoyed every minute I was able to spend with you. Your humor and love of life is contagious and truly inspiring. You are a great friend Jimmy and we are all so blessed that we got to be a part of your incredible life. Those days I was able to spend with you and your dad in Indy honestly, I hadn't laughed so hard in a long time! Even in the middle of your toughest battle nothing got your down and because of that, every person you touched while you were with us will have you as the greatest example of hope and strength. I think about you often Jimmy and I send all my love to your amazing family. Love your Friend and Regis sister, Maddie

Your comments Dear McGann family: Since Aleck shared with me the news of Jimmy's passing you and he have not been far from my thoughts. Jimmy was such a gracious and poised young man. Reading his journal shows a poise much beyond his years. It was my privilege to have known him. I wish you peace.

Your comments McGann family- I pray and know the peace of the Lord is with you now at this time. With our friendship and Nick and Jimmy's friendship, I feel like one of our "sons" has gone to heaven. Jimmy has always been such a joy to have around and his gentle spirit is what I think I have loved the most. There are so many memories and I will cherish them always. I will always think of Jimmy when a country song comes on the radio. I laugh when I think of how Jimmy and Nick turned into cowboys as they graduated from Regis! I receive comfort knowing Jimmy is in heaven but I sure miss him right now.

Your comments Jimmy, An Irish prayer "God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered "Come to Me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best." God bless you and your family. With love, The Kavanaughs

Your comments To Jimmy and to the McGann family, Kathy Kavanaugh from Rochester wrote me this evening to tell me about you and your battle with cancer, and I have just spent about an hour reading your web page. Thank you for fighting this good fight, and for sharing your struggle so publicly. I know that the struggle is over now but rest assured that the encouragement of your words and your spirit have not died; they are your gift from God and you have given them to us, both friends and strangers alike. I will be remembering you and your family in my prayers and at mass at St. Ignatius Church in Manhattan. It is the least this Jesuit can do for a fine "Man for Others." With deep sympathy, but also with great admiration, hope and gratitude for the gift of yourself that you have given in the Jesuit tradition "ad majorem Dei gloriam."

She wrote to me 8 months ago and asked me to pray for you and your family and I have prayed for you all every day since. I have read all about you tonight on the website and cried and laughed and laughed and cried. Even though I never knew you, I am in awe of your faith, your persistence, your strength and your family. May you rest in peace in Jesus' arms. And may you, Family, know that even though the Lord has not raised Jimmy up in this life, He will in the next. May you feel His comfort and peace in spite of such a terrible loss. And may you know that people who don't even know you love you and will keep you in their prayers. "And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matt. 28:20

Your comments There are no words to describe the sadness that we feel for your family. It was such a great honor for me to know Jimmy as a student and friend, and to spend time together on the baseball field, golf course, and to be able to befriend such a wonderful family. His battle and optimism throughout is an inspiration and a testament to who Jimmy was as a person. While it is impossible to make sense of such a tragedy, please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers and that Jimmy's spirit will endure. All of our love and sympathies.

Your comments Hi Jimmy, I haven't written in awhile, I too have encountered a set back but I am on the mend and going full force ahead to beat my cancer also. I had major stomach surgery a few weeks ago to remove a cancerous tumor in a lymph node, the surgeon feels that he got it all and even though I have heard that before I am hopeful. I will sstart radiation on January 5th which will be directed toward my stomach, the side effects are the usual, nausea being the worst because of where it is, nothing I can't handle at this point. We are tough and can beat our cancers I am sure of it. We both have so many people praying for us that we have to win. It is cold and snow here in Wisconsin but very beautiful. I love any kind of weather at this point. Keep you chin up and I will do the same even though it is hard at times. Please email me at anytime because I truly know what you are going through. I am going to make sure I have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and I am sure you will do the same.I will continue my prayers to St Peregrine for you and myself and all the others suffering with this terrible disease. HANG IN THERE JIMMY and HAPPY NEW YEAR. KATHY

Your comments HI Jimmy, It's Aunt Kate's roommate from PC again just letting you know that I am thinking of you and praying for you. You have an unbelievable spirit and that will get you through all that you are going through. Please keep the faith and know that there are people who you don't even know praying for you..because it is a small world and one person tells another...and so there is the power of prayer! I am leaving this Friday to go to the Solomon Islands to do missionary work with a fellow alum from PC, Chris Cardone who is now Bishop of the Solomon Islands. My mission is to help build a school, teach local women finance and art to the young children...and maybe judge a sporting event or 2! And I will also ask that all of the Solomon Islanders in Bishop Chris' flock pray for you as well. Your great-uncle John , Bishop McGann was an inspiration to Bishop Chris and he has taken Bishop John's motto as his own! Keep the faith! XO Susan P.S. Make snow angels with your family for me!

Your comments Hello Jimmy, I'm Win's Mom. We met at Regina's and Win's wedding but that was such a LONG time ago and I don't expect you to remember me. Today we prayed for you in a little palapa church in Belize. With prayers from every corner of the world, you WILL win this battle. I've been following your "journey" and have been touched by it. You are an amazing young man destined for great things. Little Belizean palapa backyard church (all 14 of us) will be praying for you every Sunday. My best to you. Klari Hahn

Your comments Hey Jimmy I'm at work (obviously working hard!) and decided to check for an update. You should know that you never have to thank any of us for our prayers. You inspire us with your strength and that is enough! When I was home for Thanksgiving, I ran into a guy from my high school who told me that he had visited your website and was inspired by your story and had been praying for you ever since. You have people that you don't even know rooting for you! Keep up the fight and we'll keep up our prayers!

Your comments Hi Jimmy, We are thinking of you and will keep you in our prayers this week, as always. In your mom's most recent update she mentioned McDonald's in upstate New York.....it brought back many memories. I can still see you, Danny and the Payne boys stuffed in the van watching all the action at construction sites! Your mom and I would pack snacks and the 4 of you would watch the workers and big trucks in amazement! Your mom and I would would have a great time chatting while you guys were soaking it all in. I am having a crown put on Wednesday and could use someone there to hold my hand. You would be the perfect one to give me strength! Hold my hand from across the miles. 11:00 AM EST...Be there! The Giants are in need of a new wide receiver now that Plaxico the valadictorian decided to test out his marksmanship in his favorite east village nightclub. I think you should fill in next season. I'll give Coughlan a call and let him know you'll be off IR soon! Keep up the fight Jimbo!!! GO Big BLUE!!!

Your comments Hello, I went to Niagara with your mom and dad and I am sorry to hear about all you are going through. My husband and I saw your parents years ago at a park in Rochester, but haven't seen them since. I did not even know you all moved. Well... now that we know, we just want to let you know there are prayers for you coming from Western new York... Batavia to be exact. Keep fighting... It really does suck (sorry there isn't a better term). You are a big inspiration as I read your website... and you have lots of really good looking girls swarming around... "just like your dad". Actually you look alot like him... I know your mom is very pretty so you got the best of both. Anyway, just know prayers are in the works from across the globe. Good luck and God Bless. Your comments Hi Jimmy, I just got an email from the wife of one of Jimmy's teachers at St. Sebastian's. This is the couple that graduated from Notre Dame and had submitted a prayer request for you at the grotto. Mrs. Ryan just told me she continues to submit pray requests and has her family praying for you also. So many people are cheering you on Jimmy and lifting you up in pray. I just know God is listening. Keep the faith. PS I hope your dad watched the entire Jets game last night. We think we might have heard him let out a cheer when they clinched the victory!! We love you Jimmy. xoxo
