Comments: I did happen 2 find a couple of things, but will need 2 be in touch w my Uncle Michael Dougherty...He lives in Tx and I am in PA so we don't get 2 talk much. I happended 2 c a couple posts that could be related? But Idk..don't have all of the info I would need. Peter Dougherty was from Donegal and he arrived in the 1780's. They ended up settling in the Chest Springs/Gallitzen area of PA. If i find more info about his brothers that stayed in Ireland, or about his wife (mary?) and children I will post. And not 2 bring up any other names..but if any of u have info on James Maloy emigrated from belfast..born in Londonderry-Co Derry. Applied for naturilization papers in1841 in his mid 40's. Recieved papers Oct 1843 could not read or write..signed papers w X. His wife Susan (kelly) could not read or write..have 1850 census but impossible 2 read. She may have been daughter of Patrick Kelly emigrated from Malin..maybe had 2 wives (lived 2 be 104). Recieved marriage license of James and Susan (my great great great grandparents)..were married by Prince Gallitzen...he may be canonized

Comments: I have gathered quite a bit of knowledge a couple months ago that thrilled me. My ancestor was named Peter Dougherty and he came to the US in the late 1700's. He had 2 brothers, but they both stayed in Ireland. I wish I had all of the information with me right now, but my uncle has done so much research and it was great to have a common interest in our ancestors and family. I few years ago he found one of our cousins from long ago...he was there with my grandfather as well. They were so happy and couldn't believe they were able to find them after over 200 years. Well, the sad part of the story is the young couple were just married, and they had thought my relatives had come to take their land. My family very much reassured them that they had traced our family tree back to them and they just wanted to say "Hello!" My mother's side is also Irish...Malloy. I have alot of documentation from my mother's side. The funny thing is to, that both my father's side and my mother's side both ended up settling just about 20 min from me. They are all buried in the same cemetery. It would be a dream come true to come visit Ireland. I wish I could be there now!
